Chemotherapy (a.k.a.: not happy, it's crappy!)

Talking to Dad yesterday, he spelled out the two chemotherapy drugs that the oncologist says they will be giving him. The therapy will be anywhere from two to four-ish weeks, depending on how he is recovering. Meaning: How well his immune system is rebounding.

Chemotherapy will again challenge his immune system. He is not happy about feeling crappy again.

Side effects from these meds are: nauseau, vomiting, and fatigue.

The meds to be injected are:

Eloxatin
&
Gemzar

This article I found online explains that these, plus another that Dad won't be getting that is too hard on heart and kidneys, are often used to treat hepatocellular carcinoma (his liver cancer).

Have you called him yet?

Oh, AND...he said he walked a mile yesterday! !
