Can't make it? Please, go to TEAM FRIKKEN'S SITE AND DONATE!WHO? Team Frikken!!! Organized by Kate, Terry's daughter. Join us! (See pictures of some of Team Frikken below!)
WHEN and WHERE: September 8th at 9am at Stoney Creek ( in Shelby Township, MI)
WHY? As you know, Terry, my father, was diagnosed with Liver cancer and had 3 subsequent surgeries to remove the recurring tumors. Just over a year ago, he received a life-giving transplant of a liver. Walk or donate to honor him; walk or donate to honor his donor; honor his physicians and health care givers. Walk to join us, his family as we continue this journey together.
OK-and, how cool would it be to be a part of "THE FRIKKEN TEAM"!?
From the ALF's site:
"Why Walk?
• Liver disease afflicts one in every 10 Americans.
• The economic impact of liver disease in lost wages, absenteeism etc. is estimated to approach $30 billion annually.
• Liver cancer is the only cancer whose incidence is increasing.
• More than 2,500 children are diagnosed with liver disease each year.
• Approximately four million Americans are afflicted with hepatitis C – an estimated 70% are unaware that they carry the virus.
• Within the next 20 years, the hepatitis C epidemic is expected to cause more deaths annually than AIDS.
